Desert Star:
This wall hanging (approximately 17" square) has a little bit of everything - traditional piecing, paper or foundation piecing & raw edge, fused & machine stitched applique. The traditional star quilt block is pieced & paper pieced in the bright colors of the southwest. The star forms the background for the colorful quail in definitely nontraditional orange, grey & turquoise, stitched in applique. Embellished with seed beads.
