This cosy knitted woollen is created with a clever boucle yarn that has a fine black acrylic yarn at its base. All wool fibres with a super-cosy boucle curl are then added to the yarn in a sea-faring palette of pleasing denim blue tones, the colour of the ever-changing blue seas and sky. Fishermen have traditionally worn knitted jumpers/sweaters called Gansey's created in unique patterns each distinctive to their area of coastline and often knitted in glorious tones of blue.

Properties:

Great Gansey is knitted in a classic stocking stitch which produces a closely compacted base and reverse. The tiny chevrons of the stocking stitch can be seen on the reverse and display all the colours of the yarn.

The chunky boucle fibres of denim blue wool, present themselves as rows of closely arranged curls, or like waves upon a choppy sea. This knitted fabric is a super warm and cosy fabric with good natural knitted ease, malleable and will drape reassuringly at length.
