Barn, located in the Pyrnes-Atlantiques (Nouvelle-Aquitaine region), has a strong tradition of handweaving and textile craftsmanship, often using local sheeps wool or homegrown linen/hemp. Artisans in the region often produced homespun fabrics for household use (towels, sheets, tablecloths, etc.), especially pre-industrialization.Traditional French Barn household cloths such as towels, table linens, and utility fabrics have been made in the Barn region of southwestern France since at least the 18th century.
