Shah Jahan I, also called Shah Jahan the Magnificent, was the fifth Mughal Emperor from 1628 until his deposition in 1658. His reign marked the zenith of Mughal architectural and cultural achievements.
This cotton print depicts the stories in the Mughal Emperor's life while capture the natural beauty of the Indian subcontinent.
There are so many stories: horses and chevaliers, the deer, the nosy monkey watching the battle and the noble elephant. At last, do you see the rabbit gazing into the pond?
Total of 20 screens, the palette is incredibly rich and nuanced.
